A group of artists visited the studio of the artist Abed Abdi, the “Haifa” gallery by the artist Suad Nasr – Makhoul, and “Al-Majd” theater<\/span><\/p>\n

A group of Russian artists visited a number of Palestinian civil and cultural institutions in the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood in Haifa. For a period of three days, the group painted inside the neighborhood and got acquainted with its cultural and civil facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mossawa Center hosted the group within the Solidarity Program at the Carmel Cultural, Educational, and Legal Center, where the Solidarity Program coordinator \u201cAmira Abu Atta\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The group of artists visited the studio of the artist Abed Abdi and got acquainted with his works through his son Attila Abdi, who reviewed the works of his father, who is currently abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday, the group visited the artist, Souad Nasr-Makhoul, in the \u201cHaifa\u201d gallery, which she founded in the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood. Nasr – Makhoul explained to the group about her artwork, documentation of the Wadi al-Saleeb neighborhood, the history of Dahir al-Omar, and Palestinian plastic art, in addition to the Palestinian embroidery exhibition she is hosting in the gallery.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group went to the headquarters of Al-Majd Theatre, inside the alleys of Wadi Al-Nisnas, where the artist Iyad Sheety explained to the group about the theater and its works and the importance of preserving culture within the historic neighborhoods and markets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amira Abu Atta explained, \u201cWe use art to market our civilization, culture, and political cause. What is happening in the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood is a window to a rich civilization and culture, along with the market and food wealth. There are those who deal with Arab neighborhoods from one perspective, but the architecture, plastic arts, and theatrical arts that work in the neighborhood deserve to be published, visited, and encouraged.
